Color Change

stained dark wood cabinets

If you are tired of the same cabinet color but don’t want a full kitchen remodel, you will love our Cabinet Color Change service.

No need to reface or replace your cabinets, because with this service we re-stain and refinish your cabinets in a new tint, tone, or shade.  While your current cabinets might appear worn or outdated, a simple color change will give them – and your kitchen – a stunning new look.

What is a color change?

A color change involves a shift to a deeper or richer wood stain.  We use tinted lacquers to give your cabinets an especially durable finish.

This service is an ideal choice for cabinets with a golden oak or whitewash finish, which can be shifted to a cherry or espresso tone.  Even the slightest color change can give a dramatic effect on the overall look and feel of your kitchen.

Our Process

The beginning stages of our Cabinet Color Change service are similar to our Classic Cabinet Renewal process.

During our application stage, tinted lacquer is sprayed on, leaving a flawless finish without brushstrokes.  Lacquer finishes can have a matte, semi-gloss or high gloss finish, and are available in a variety of colors.

To ensure minimal disruption to your daily life, we remove your cabinets and drawer faces so they can be prepped, stained, and finished at our shop.

Additional Finishing Techniques

We offer custom finishing techniques to further personalize your project.

Glazing/Antiquing: Highlighting the details of your cabinets by applying transparent or semi-transparent glaze, giving your cabinets a rustic, aged or antique look.

Distressed: By weathering your cabinets by hand, we are able to add enough imperfections to mimic the look of wear and tear, leaving a perfectly aged appearance.
